10min

This document describes step by step how to setup Aimplan to do a report.

Download and Install the Aimplan visual

In Power BI, you must download Aimplan from Microsoft AppSource. You can read how to do this here.

Using the Aimplan visual

When you've followed the instructions above to install Aimplan, you can use it in a Power BI report. Find a space where you want to put Aimplan and click on the Aimplan visual. The visual is now added in the active page. Make sure you have the visual active by clicking on it and drag some columns you want to use in the report to corresponding fields.

Add fields to the report

Here is Account, AccountName, Year-Month and CostCenter dragged to Fields and Amount to Values.

Creating more sections

In the free version of Aimplan Reporting, there is only one row and column section available. I you have a valid license you can add more sections to your report.

There are two ways to do this. If your organization have enabled custom visuals to get access to Microsoft Entra ID (Read more here: Authentication Failed) you can access the full Aimplan experience by this authentication method.

If you have not done so, you can access it through an Access Token which you get in the Aimplan Portal. Login to the Aimplan Portal. On the upper right corner in the portal, you can click on the "initial-ring" and choose Create Access Token:
