Step-by-step Reporting
This document describes step by step how to setup Aimplan to do a report.
In Power BI, you must download Aimplan from Microsoft AppSource. You can read how to do this here.
When you've followed the instructions above to install Aimplan, you can use it in a Power BI report. Find a space where you want to put Aimplan and click on the Aimplan visual. The visual is now added in the active page. Make sure you have the visual active by clicking on it and drag some columns you want to use in the report to corresponding fields.
Here is Account, AccountName, Year-Month and CostCenter dragged to Fields and Amount to Values.

When the fields are dragged in (you can always change this by adding and remove fields) it's time to configure the report. In the Aimplan's upper right corner you have three dots which you should click on.

Click on the Edit option in the menu that pops up and the Aimplan configuration window is opened.

On the top right you can see the fields you have dragged in, you can, if you want, add more fields by dragging them to the Power BI's Fields or Values box to the right. Please note that you cannot drag the fields directly to the "Available Fields" in the configuration box.
On the top left you have Visual Settings and Row/Column Sections. Click on + New Row Section. A new section is expanded:

By clicking on "New Section" you can name the Section and format it the way you want.

Drag the fields that you want in this section from "Available Fields" section. In the image below, AccountName has been dragged into the Fields section.

By clicking on a field in the Fields box, you can edit properties for the field.

To create a column section, click on + New Column Section and the column section is expanded. Follow the same step as the Row Section above to name the section and drag fields into the section. Since a column section hold values, you'll need to drag some value field into the section.

By clicking on the Preview button, you can preview the report:

By dragging in another field in the row section, you can create a hierarchy.

By clicking on the top field, you can edit properties for the field. For example, chose if and where a total row should be showed.

In the free version of Aimplan Reporting, there is only one row and column section available. I you have a valid license you can add more sections to your report.
There are two ways to do this. If your organization have enabled custom visuals to get access to Microsoft Entra ID (Read more here: Authentication Failed) you can access the full Aimplan experience by this authentication method.
If you have not done so, you can access it through an Access Token which you get in the Aimplan Portal. Login to the Aimplan Portal. On the upper right corner in the portal, you can click on the "initial-ring" and choose Create Access Token:

Choose when the token should expire, Generate and click on the Copy Token button.
Now, with the token in your clipboard. Open your Aimplan report and click on the three dots on the upper right, choose edit and click on "Visual Settings" on the top left. Paste the Token in the Token box.

When the token is pasted, you can now create more sections in the report.
