Introduction to Measures

When the Aimplan Planning and Reporting visual store data to a fact-planning table, one of the required fields is a 'MeasureKey'. I.e. every single value stored from a planning table, must be stored to the underlying database flagged with the Id or key of the measure.

In Power BI, later when you will configure a Power BI measure to 'write-back' to the database, you will select on which of these Aimplan-measures to which you want to store the data.

Creating a new measure

Inside the admin portal you easily define new measures with a unique id/key and a name.

How are measures used?

In the fact-planning tables you will create, a MeasureKey field/dimension will automatically be created. This is a mandatory field. I.e. when you configure an Aimplan Planning and Reporting visual you must assign for each value-field you want editable, to which Aimplan-measure key data/values should be stored.
