Welcome to the Aimplan general training sessions!

Here we provide you with information about how to access the Aimplan general training webinar sessions. The objectives of these sessions are to get you going and give you a deeper understanding of how Aimplan and Power BI interact.

The target audience for this training is: • Controllers, CFOs, and other finance professionals with Power BI skills • Inhouse business intelligence and data warehousing teams • Power BI and FP&A consultants

We expect that you have basic knowledge of Power BI including: • Connecting to data sources using Power Query to retrieve data, including configuring direct query vs. imported tables • Data modeling – building relationships between tables • Calculated measures, calculated tables, and calculated fields • Designing Power BI reports using tables, matrix-visuals, charts etc • Applying filters to reports using slicers, fixed filters on page and visuals

What you need to get started:

You need:

  • Power BI Desktop

A Microsoft M365 Account.

A Training Package containing a .pbix file to get started and solutions for each exercise. This should be sent to you from [email protected] together with notification that your user have been added to the Training Instance.

In the following chapters you will find the upcoming Aimplan Training, each chapter representing one exercise.

You will need the following information during your training:

When you open your Training file, you need to start by editing the connectionstring to get access, and by whitelisting your IP-address through the top right corner of the Aimplan Portal:

Go to User settings / Firewall. Click Add Current IP

Next you need to change the Connection Settings of both Data Sources in Power BI Desktop.

Go to:

Transform Data;Data Source Settings;

Choose one of the sources

Edit Permission;Credentials;Edit;choose Database;
